Relocating from the Maine coast to Berkely, CA., then to Florida's Gulf Coast, has been instrumental in the changing style and content of my work. I love the barefoot beach life, so hula girls, palms, tiki huts, sun, surf, sand, and sarongs are all images that convey a sense of freedom and fun, with an occassional deeper meaning...For me, the cards are "visual frozen moments" done with a wink and a sense of "vintage vignette". Creating offbeat themes and messages outside the mainstream card market is amusing and inspires further work.
